76 Hz submarine communication system
Here is a link to a PDF describing USA's Navy ELF communication system, together with some pictures. Basicly it is a set of antennas about 14 miles each which transmit @ 76 Hz. Wow. Another link to a brief description. I wonder if Russians have something like that.
UPDATE:Russians do seem to have it, it is called "ZEVS", located near Murmansk.
